Create-A-Scene
I have known that I was an artist since I was five years old. I was always attracted to paint, paper, and art supplies. Through out my life I have created art. I am grateful that I have been able to make my living through the creative process within me and have for the past 20 years.
I am a self taught artist and my style is best described as folk art. My art is ever evolving and I evolve with it. This path has led me down many directions and will always lead me towards new ideas, materials, and processes. My latest path has led me to paint in a whole new genre.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2014. I had surgery and my doctors have not found any sign of cancer since my treatment ended. Through this life changing experience I wanted to express myself with more freedom. I no longer wanted any restrictions in my work. I painted with acrylics during my treatment and it really helped me to get through the whole process of my battle with cancer. It felt so good to apply layers of paint on my paintings as I stripped away at the many layers of life. My brushstrokes were uninhibited and free.
Once again my creative processes have made me feel grateful. Please enjoy the photos that I post and follow along on my life's journey as an artist.
